Chrome Deer & Animal Alert Set

This is an item that you will find difficulty in assessing it's effectiveness. However, after installing these on our two bikes, I found them to apparently work. Last fall, I saw two deer along the right side of the road ahead. Two cars were in front of me, and as they both drove by the deer they never even flinched. As we approached within a couple hundred feet, they flinched then ran off into the trees. I saw no other reason for them to suddenly move away quickly. You can blow into these whistles and hear the sound, but do not hear the sound while riding.

I had these on my '03 GL1800 and rode 30000 miles in 4 years. Many other bikers asked if the really work on bikes or not.

Just traded in the '03 for a 12. No deer meat or fur on the fairing. After seeing countless deer, antelope, elk, etc. and not ever hitting any I don't know if they work or it is just superstition that they heard and thus saw me coming. However, for the money I will be putting them on my 12. They seemed to work for me.

The bison that lumbered out in front of me at Yellowstone last summer was not impressed at all. He just stood there, looked at me with that, "you know this is my road?" kind of stare. So the weight limit on these seem to be for animals under 1 ton.

Installed over one year ago. Ease of installation. Appearance is very nice. Cannot say at this point how well they work. Have not hit any animal yet, and it does appear as if deer watch me go by. Have friends with deer incidents, so I would not ride without them.

I installed these because next summer I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling and I have a friend from KY that says they work for sure.. Other then that I live in NY/NJ and we don't have any deer problems here!! LOL

Rudolf is SAFE!!! Since installing them I haven't killed any deer. I mounted them under the mirrors to expose them to the most airflow. I gave these only 4 stars 'cause I would have rather had them black to match the bike. (Rattle can black will fix this issue) Perhaps it's the shiny chrome finish that scares the deer....
