Extremely dissapointed

Installed these at the same time I put the centramatics on. Great ride and very smooth to begin with, but had to replace the back tire at 6500 miles. Tire was completely worn out and extremely cupped. Was hoping to get a lot more miles out of the tire than that, especially since I was meticulous about keeping correct tire pressure. Front tire will probably be replace in less than a 1000 miles, so needless to say, I'm not a big fan of Avon Cobra tires. If I was rating on handling capabilities, it would be a 10. But add it all up and I won't be buying these tires again.

Very satisfied

Put front and rear Cobras on 17K miles ago. I had a nail in the rear and replaced it with another Cobra insted of repair. It had 3/32 at the wear bar and I would have gone a while longer and done front and rear at the same time. Yes it was cupped and made some noise in sweeping turns but that only seemed to become really noticeable the last 3K miles I'd guess.
Have always run 41 front and rear and put the cetramatics on at about 2K into their run. I check other guys tires all the time to see how my wear might compare to theirs and comparisons have always been in favor of my Cobras. Great tire and I'll stay with them as long as no-one else has something magical. Todays ride was totally SMOOTH.

Great Tire

After placing over 15,000 miles on these tires, I am as impressed with their handling as I was after the first 1,000 miles. The tires have proven to be the best I've ever installed on my Wing. Quite, excellent in dry or wet conditions, sticks to the pavement, no cupping front or rear and high mileage/extended wear (When properly inflated, 39 front & 41 rear) is my experience with this tire. The only tire I'll install on the Wing from this point on.

Extreme Disappointment

Bought these tires last June, had them installed by local Honda shop front and rear. I'm just over four thousand miles and the rear is beginning to cup. I have been relicious about tire pressure maintaining 40 PSI front and 41 rear. Also found what i thought was a nail in it and it turned out to be a manufacturing flaw. A dime size solid chunk of what i think is belt material in the tire. Pulled it out and it left a puck about 1/4" deep 1/2" round. I intend to contact Wing Stuff tomorrow, but I may be sent to Avon. I'll let you know how it turns out. Really disapointed because these were riding pretty nice until now.

Horrible

Rear tire is badly cupped and cracked at 5,500 miles. Air pressure is maintained at recommended 41-42 psi, balanced with centramatic wheel balancers. After using 4 different sets of tires (my experiment) on the Goldwing I will say these are by far the worst tires I have ever purchased in 35 years of riding.

TR305762: Front Cobra Radial Tire for GL1800
TR305770: Rear Cobra Radial Tire for GL1800
My baby’s first set of new shoes.

Bought as a set because my factory Dunlop’s were showing the ware bars (front and rear) before I made 10,000 miles. The Dunlop tire has better road grip but tends to cup if the pressure gets only 2psi below 40psi especially on the rear tire (not so with Cobra). Dunlop’s softer compound no doubt leads to the low mileage wear. I do like to lean hard from time to time and the Cobra seems to grip just fine until you bang the gears a bit hard, that’s when you notice the difference in tires. Knowing this now, I just enjoy the lean without hammering the gears. My hope is that the Cobra’s will give me many more miles than the factory Dunlop’s did. If my wish comes true the tradeoff will be well worth it.

I am on my second set of Cobra's. I have tried Dunlop's and Bridgestones. I will always choose Avon Cobra's for my Wing if i have that choice. They make me feel very confident on just about any road surface. I know everyone has his own opinion on things like this and thats mine. I will take the Cobras any day of the week.

I have not bought the cobra radials yet. I was reading the reviews first, it seems to be a good tire. I have almost 9,000 miles on the original set of dunlops that came with the bike. I bought the bike in March 2011 new, its a 2010 yellow Gold Wing.
I am a very big guy 6ft. 8" and 340 lbs. The tires I have are already worn out, the front tire cupped at around 6,000 miles and is getting worse the left side of the tire is bald and the right side still has some tread on it. The rear tire is still ok but I would like to replace them at the same time to get the same tread together. I ride everytday as much as I can. I would like to know more about how the cobra's handle and do they stick well. I love the bike and I would like to get more miles out of the tires, but I know i will have to quit spinning them as often as I do lol. Is this a good all around tire and will it last, with a bit of aggression put on them, lol. I do like to ride aggresively sometimes and the bike is really powerful, and I do abuse it a little. What is a good size to put on both front and rear for this kind of riding.

I bought the Cobras 2 years ago. I just installed a new set of Cobras after 12500 miles. I am very happy with the tires. The was no cupping on the front or rear tires as there was with the previous different brand tires. I purchased the 60 series tire instead of the 70s as per my last review. I'm happy about the ride height and the tire clearance when on the center stand. This is my second set and I'm pretty sure it won't be my last.
