Definitely a nice touch of class without being gaudy or overdone. I enjoy them and the look, but definitely silicon them in place just be cautious of the squeeze out, they are a great fit
A super sharp addition to my trike. I 1st went with the advice of using double face tape and that was the worst suggestion I have ever seen. You cannot get the pieces fully seated without the adhesive stopping you. Ended up cutting them off, cleaning and then doing them with the RV silicone. Put the bead almost to the bottom of the piece, then apply it and use the zip-ties but don't get them pulled too tight or you will distort things. Mine came out fabulous, don't listen to advice from others on using the double faced adhesive tape. Bad suggestion.
Great BLING for your Wing. Install was easy and clean, 15 minutes max. You do need to be careful to place the silicone adhesive only along the lower edge of the chrome door accent to avoid getting the adhesive on unwanted areas. To the earlier reviewers who pointed out the difficulty of removing the adhesive from unwanted areas, thanks. Be sure to use the ties and leave overnight to set the adhesive.
Tried to place the accents on with a small bead of silicone. Followed the instructions and found that when the cable ties were applied, they distorted the accents and squeezed the silicone out in places. It was a mess to clean up so I took it completely off and cleaned the door and accents. Used 1/4 inch trim tape to affix them to the doors and it worked very well. I don't know why they don't just put trim tape on them like they do most other parts. After installation they look very good but will never follow ridiculous instructions to use RTV Silicone to mount any of them again. Would have given better rating except for the instructions and the ridiculous use of RTV Silicone when trim tape works so well.
The fit to the covers was disappointing and the use of silicone as an adhesive questionable. DON'T USE TOO MUCH OF THE SILICONE! Removing the excess is a real bear. A better option might be two sided adhesive tape. It would help to even the gap and probably hold just as well. They do however really look good when installed.
And we can't wait to show you how it's done!
