Less enthused than others

I seem to be in the minority about ease of installation. The angle of the L-shaped mounting bracket did not match the angle of the backrest and side-pocket. It made it harder to align to mark for the holes. This was on a 2002 Goldwing. I remeasured multiple times then drilled the 1/2" holes. I also had a problem getting the passenger backrest back on. There is a gap at the top, and the supplied foam tube wasn't great at filling it. Also, I couldn't get the passenger backrest pulled down enough to completely get the stock two lower threaded mounts aligned in the center of the holes which lead into the trunk area. The docs say there is a 15lb limit to the armrests--meaning the passenger shoul not lean on them to adjust their seating position. Lastly, there is a lot of side to side motion after mounting. YMMV.

2 Thumbs up

To address my wifes concerns for security and piece of mind we looked into getting some armrests. The swingout ones we looked at were a no-go, wanted a up-n-down ones. These look great, address her concerns and are comfortable. She could fall asleep on back with no fears if she wanted to. Installation took about 45 mins and was easy. Had to pull down on the headrest to get the rear screws to line up with the nutplates on the back of the headrest was the only thing had to do. Very solid design, not a cheap setup. Had to wait about 2 1/2 weeks to get it, but well worth it. Arms move up and out of the way when no passenger onboard, and can open trunk with arms down.

Brilliant

It took less that 45 minutes to install and to make any height and or width adjustment for my primary passenger/ soul-mate! We tried out the new armrests this past weekend upon some open road including some sweeping curvy roads. At the end of the riding day, I was informed that the new armrests are, "niceeee"! Note, 'niceeee' is GOOD! Well got to go and pay some bills. Until next time fellow wingers/ riders... Best Regards & Go Easy! -B.E.G. /FAB-1 Group, Int'l

The BEST

I really don't know what else to say, they were extremly easy to install (about 1 hour), they look GREAT, they are completely out of the way when folded up and allow for the full opening of trunk lid. OH! did I mention my wife LOVES them, says it's the best addition to our wing yet.
