Also available for the 2012-2013 GL1800 Gold Wing.
With just the addition of some inexpensive cables we are able to offer a level of audio integration that you would normally cost you hundreds of dollars more for expensive aftermarket interfaces. Full 2-year manufacturer warranty.
Add On Cables And Options:
GPS Input Cable ( Sold Separately and shown as Related Product on page ).
No longer will you need to tie up the AUX connection to hear your GPS.
This option will give you an audio input for an aftermarket GPS and will route the audio (mono) into the OEM audio system just like the OEM navigation system, so you can listen to any audio input CD.FM, etc and still hear the GPS directions, this interface is also ideal for a radar detector input.
There is also an optional MIC output adaptor to the GPS to allow for Bluetooth phone use if your GPS is suitably equipped.
2ND Radio Cable
Increasingly we are seeing riders groups move away from CB radio and onto the more modern FRS or GMRS radios.
This cable will allow the integration of these radios allowing use of the bikes factory PTT and volume functions.
The second radio will work in parallel with the CB radio so you will hear audio from both and you will be able to switch your transmission from one radio to the other using the factory controls.
A further benefit of this connection is that if you just occasionally need a CB radio you can choose to order without our CB radio module and use an inexpensive handheld portable CB radio over which you will have PTT and volume control, and then later on if your needs change you can add our CB radio module.
(Note For Handheld CB Use You Will Still Need To Install A CB Antenna To Avoid Interference Issues)
Check the wire harness for loose wires! After I installed radio the first time it did not work. Pulled it back out and noticed the power wires had both come out of the CB harness plug that pluges into the CB. I am sure it was probably just a employees bad day when they missed the crimp on the wires. Was able to get the wires reconnected to the pins and 2nd time was a charm!
Was able to get SWR of 1.2 :1 on channel 1 and 1.5:1 on channel 40. Needed to shorten antenna approx 1/4 inch. Borrow a SWR meter and tune for best performance. This is definetly the best CB I have installed in a wing!
would be nice if they would send ya a manual for the unite set up menual there is a lot of things you can set i found this by accdent they did not even mentiom it in any of the papers i got with the unite had to go online to find the manual for programing this
Purchased in September of 2012. Took my time installing. Front connector has 15 pins and is a bitch to make up. Have to spread female side a little to get male pins in. I installed pl-259 male connectors in antenna cable in order to set SWR's on antenna. I couldn't believe I got a perfect 1:1 ratio. This radio gets out loud and clear! Beep has a rather loud sound. I turned it off. In January I started noticing that I couldn't hear as well as before. Sounded muted at times. I checked all connections and antenna and radio grounds. This intermitting problem was happening more and more. I contacted Wingstuff who gave me BikeMP3's phone number. They suggested to me the same things that I had just done. So, they sent me a new main cable. I installed new cable and for 3 weeks everything is like brand new. Wingstuff and BikeMP3 were very helpful. Wish all businesses operated like that. Reason I gave them 4 stars for defective cable, but 5+ stars for customer service!
installed the radio per instructions things were going fine till i had to conect the harness to the plug up in the fairing double read instructions even watched the install videio plug is not where they said it was called bikeMP3 with not much help there said they would get back with me never heard from again just so the rest of you know the plugin is located up by the frame under the radio witch requires you to take the top cover off the bike witch is a lot more work than they represent in the instructions or videio just want the novis to know what they might be getting into if they try installing
And we can't wait to show you how it's done!
