Just an update on this ShowChrome windshield since I have put about 2000 miles on it since installed 1 month ago:

This windshield scratches easily, and yes, I always cleaned with a clean micro-fiber cloth and proper solution.... still lots of hair-line scratches with even the best attempt to clean properly.

The black painted trim at the bottom of the windshield (only 1/2" visible at the lowest setting and 4" at highest setting) is being scratched away in the middle and the outsides from being raised and lowered with just over 1 month of use.

So now I have to decide how long I can put up with the black being scratched away before I pull the whole thing off and remove all of the black paint and just make it all clear and polish the hair-lines out.

The performance/buffeting reduction is great, but the easy scratching, along with the black area being scratched away, is definitely a drawback. Maybe this windshield could have benefitted from a strip of felt or fabric being attached to the bike where the windshield slides against it?????????

Considering the price and the reduced buffeting, I still like this product but have to drop to 3 stars for the lack of R&D by ShowChrome.

A huge windshield - Giving 4 stars for a really good price, would be 5 stars if the vent was better quality.

Installed this on my 08', not sure I believe the measurements that are listed on the description page because this thing is HUGE compared to my stock shield. When I compared them side by side, this new shield is 12" taller (measuring them back-to-back on the ground), I assume they are measuring with the angle of mounting/swept back ..... either way, i'm 6' tall, and on the lowest setting, its at my forehead.

With this windshield, anywhere above the first setting or two results in bending downward a good bit at highway speeds. Wind buffeting on my head and shoulders drastically reduced at 70+ mph

Installation was VERY simple - I cheated and went to the F4Customs windshield website and watched their detailed video for removal of the old shield and installation of new - not much difference between the models, so it only took me about 30 minutes ..... Highly suggest the video as the instructions that are included leave a bit to be desired.

The vent that came with mine seems brittle, not nearly as sturdy as the stock Honda vent, but works.

We'll see how this set-up works out this year!!

Wow! This product has made one of the biggest improvements for my 08 Goldwing. First off, make sure you are very mechanically inclinded and have the entire day to pull this off. Make sure you make good mental notes on everything you have to take off to install this new windshield. You will have to put it all back correctly when your done. I am only 5'11" tall and this windshield not deflects 95% of the wind away from me. I would also recommend buying the extended windshield with the fresh air vent, I used it all the time when the temperature is above 72 deg. This windshield also seems at make the bike more aerodynamic on the highway. It now seems to slice through the wind with little to no buffering on my helmet or my wife. We also got caught in the rain coming back from Florida and at 60 mph most of the rain went right over us. I highly recommend this product but make sure you have buckets of time and a lot of patients when installing it yourself. You will love the way it performs....

First off, this is a BIG windshield. I am just shy of 6'2" and in the lowest position, I can barely see over the top of this windshield. I raised it a couple inches and settled in to look through it instead of over. in the 80 mph area the wind does pull it down towards you and I ended up looking over it at that speed. It is a really nice windshield, instructions are a little vague, but it only took about an hour from start to finish and there were no real problems. the rag is a good idea to not loose the washer or bolt (I used a magnetic extending tool to recover the ones I dropped) clear vision with no distortion except at the very top 1/4" of the windshield. Noticeably less wind buffeting, and the vent is a must have, let's some air in, works great.

Install went ok. Recommend that you stuff a rag between mirror and fairing in case you drop a washer or nut like I did. I am 5 ft. 8in. and shield works perfect for me. just back from 1600 mile trip. Better rain protection and less buffeting on my helmet. I got clear with vent. love it. Jim gwrra #320221

Installation takes little time. Recommend research for install, along with the instructions provided.

After cruising at various speeds, I did notice less buffeting than the original windscreen. The swept back style will take a little getting used to as it is much closer. At 6'5", I still need to research other options; possibly a lower seat etc. Wind flow to the passenger is changed as well with less buffeting. I ordered the tint with vent and recommend if you drive at night, lower the screen all the way and look over if you have the height!

Easy to install and the height adjustment still works. Much calmer area around the helmet and collects almost no bugs compared to the original. Vent is a pleasant addition in the FL heat.

I have always preferred(49yrs)to look over the windshield and was skeptical of changing. The benefits of the greatly reduced buffeting and increased rain protection are worth making the change.
