Just got back from Oklahoma and Arkansas last night. Was 112 degrees when I left.
A friend I was visiting. gave me this vest, and it was a Godsend. Yeah, you have to stop every hour or so, but it works. Will never ride in the heat without one again.

This thing sucks. I have soaked it for up to an hour and put it on wet and with in an hour it is completely dry. I realize that we are in a sever heat wave but it ought to stay wet longer.

My wife is from Tennessee if I didn't know better I think she is from the show me state. I told her she would see a big difference in the way the heat affected her on a long hot ride. She finally tried the cool vest and now says she doesn't believe she could have finished our 400 mi ride in 90 degree weather without it. She is firm believer in this product.

I bought this and just took a 1,500 mile ride. Everywhere we went the locals couldn't stop talking about the heat. It was 102 at the golden gate bridge! This vest worked well. It lasts about a tank if you are out riding, then needs to soak again. The cool it provides is more like a swamp cooler than a/c. Well worth the money. Two of the couples we were riding with stopped and bought some too.

It SAVED me on a long hot ride from South County OC over to Temecula and Palomar in mid-July 2010.
I'd heard about them but thought they were for those hard core cruisers who rode hundreds and hundreds of miles thru the desert, or had to have all the new gadgets for riding.
NOPE. This is about SURVIVAL.
I decided to buy one on the advice of our Chapter President and I LOVE it.
My core felt cool, & if my core felt great then I didn't mind the heat on my legs so much.
It lasted definitely for 1 1/2 hours, then I re-soaked it for the next hour's trip.
You probably need to soak it completely for at least 1/2 hour in a big baggie, but I poured water over it when I was wearing it in Oceanside and I was actually COLD in 85 degree weather while in traffic on the 5 fwy north thru Pendleton! I HAVE to buy one for my husband.
I also bought the wide cooling tie, which felt great. Hey, for the money I spent, it was STILL cheaper than a $100 co-pay to Palomar Trauma Center for heat exhaustion or even heat stroke.
NOW I know why all those bikers wear all their gear and deal with it fine!

It's only "Kewl" for about 45 minutes, then it's dried out and starts holding in the heat.

Also, we ordered two. My wife is happy with the fit of hers, but mine is very short for a large. Fits around me OK. Oh, and the zipper is on the wrong side! Same side as my wife's. That awkward.

But the several hours of cooling is not there, at least not in 100 degree dry heat.

Less stars for the weird ipper and short fit. My wife would give 3.

For $35 bucks this is money well spent. I wore my vest for the first time Saturday in South Florida with 95 degrees and a heat index of 105-110. I was hopeful for just a little more comfort but what I got was a lot more comfort. It exceeded my expectations.

My ride was 120 miles with two stops where I put the vest in a plastic bag I brought along. It lasted the day/6 hours or 3 hours of riding time.

I am getting a second one, this is great feels like you are wearing a little A/C unit on your chest. The cooling effect lasts me about 3 hours or about one gas tank. So when I fill up I wet down the vest.

I had bought one of these, and besides being slimy, you T-shirt stays really wet. After you take your jacket and vest off, you end up with a wet slimy icky T-shirt. i tried it a couple of times, and never wore it again. Noth worth the hassle and slimyness........
