FANTASTIC SOUND!

I installed the elite 629 headsets in our HJC IS Max BT Helmets, to use on our new '12 wing! My wife and I love them!! Fantastic Sound, great quality. Yes they are pricey, and I certainly don't mind paying for high quality,,,BUT, the thing that frosts me is that they charge you ALOT for the "lower cord". Gees can't they include the lower cord after all the money we spent on the entire setup? Just my opinion... Otherwise, I highly recommend! You will love these!

629 Elite

I installed these in our Scorpion EXO-900 modular helmets and the wife and I are very happy with them. I knew going into the installation that I would need to carve some foam out of the pockets in order to fit the speakers. That was probably the hardest part, but went smoothly. After going slow and spending maybe an hour doing the install into the first helmet, the second one took less than half an hour to do. The end result sounds great. Wind noise is minimal as compared to our previous setup.

Love the sound of this Headset, Was alittle challenge getting it to fit the way I wanted it to. But got it done. I wish there was a better system for the mic to fit much better for my Nolan 102, but that's okay I did my own mods and made it work for me. Now I need to get one headset for my open face helmut.

629 Elite Headset v. 584 Elite

Bottom line - The 629 headset is a worthy upgrade to the 584's.

My reasons are:
1) Wind noise is greatly reduced when the intercom is 'on'.
2) Music is noticably clearer
3) When talking to my wife via the Intercom, her voice seems less 'robotic' and is clear, even at high speeds. Did i mention MUCH less background/wind interfecence!
4) Bass seems to be stronger (jury is still out on the exact amount though)
5) Phone/Bluetooth quality is excellent. The other end can always here me loud and clear with little or no wind noise.

I bought the FLHO models to fit our open & flip style helmets respectively.

I think that just about covers it for this 5 star product!

Progress since yesterday. I've ordered the correct cord so thanks to Wingstuff for helping out.

I also fitted headset to my Evoline 2 - not for the faint hearted. It's never nice when you spend $500 on a helmet and then have to cut it up to fit a headset.

As a general observation, the headset speakers are far too bulky and I ended up cutting lots of helmet liner out to get them to fit. I'm sure that cannot be good thing.

All done now and the helmet and headset look fine. Once I get the cable I'll find out how good this headset it and I'll update.

The bottom line - if you are not prepared to cut you helmet to fit these - don't bother buying them. If you do buy them and can get them professionally installed I strongly recommend it.

Only gave 3 stars based on the installation experience.

BUYER BEWARE !!!!

Man oh Man I am not happy. This is why ?

I already own 2 x Performance Series headsets (JMHSBCD279UNHO).
I just bought a new Shark Evoline II helmet and researched the best headset. That led me to this J&M unit which I purchase and paid freight to Australia so my landed cost is AU$228.

I STUPIDLY overlooked the cable and assumed the Lower Hook Up Cable used by J&M would be the same for all it's headsets - it BLOODY WELL isn't and now I feel swindled. I've opened the packet and regardless, at $60 freight it's pointless returning as it would be $120 wasted on freight.

Now I now choice but to order another HookUp Cable $60 + pay Lord knows how much freight.

Not Wingstuff's fault but J&M - I ain't happy. Get your act together and show some consideration for customers who've already invested in your product.

BUYER BEWARE !!!!!

I had these J&M headsets along with J&M's Blue Tooth music player installed by dealer. So far I'm disappointed. I hear a lot of noise thru the headset when no audio source is selected. I'm assuming that it's because of electrical wires that I pass by...but it would be astonishing if they did not account for that in their filtering.

Also although volume level from stock audio sources (e.g., FM) is fine, I can barely hear the radio when coming thru this expensive music player thru blue tooth in my cell phone.

Finally, I have lost audio in my left ear phone!

And that's why I paid all that money to the dealer to install so I wouldn't end up second guessing my own installation!

I just installed these about four hours ago into one of my helmets. (Shoei RJ Platinum ¾ open-face) This is the first helmet headset I have ever had. Wow! What a GREAT sound. Even better then I was expecting. AND, I installed it myself. Before iPods, MP3s, CD players and Walkmans I first started dreaming about something like this back in the ‘70s. I would ride my Triumph 650 imagining that I had my parents “cans” on listening to a record. Never could figure out how to mount and hook up the record player let alone keep it from skipping. I only have my iPod earbuds to compare to but these 629s hold their own.

They do what they say they are going to do and seem to do it well. So far I have been happy with the quality of this product. However, given the state of technology in this day and age, I am wishing I had done a little more research and gone with a bluetooth option. Having do deal with and worry about the cords is sort of a pain, and these don't allow the use of bluetooth for phone calls, music streaming, etc. So, I guess they do what they do quite well, but I wish I had bought something that does more.
