less than 2 years old

Rack is less than 2 years old and I'm already noticing the chrome starting to bubble and getting ready to peel. I'll contact Kuryakyn but from reading other reviews don't think I will get to far. May end up taking it of long enough to blast and powdercoat it. Starting to wish I would have gone with the cheaper version that uses the round bar.

Looks good new after that waste of money

I bought this the same time I bought my bike 2008. Installed it, had to order the spacers. It you are putting the brake light wing on your bike do it first. My bike is kept in a heated garage and never out of it except to ride it. After the first year, under the what they call chrome it looks like it is bubbling up under the chrome, I guess they they don't use enough nickel. I heard good things about Kuryakyn, I guess you can't always believe what you hear.

Nice Piece

This is one of the nicest looking racks out there for the price. Based on the number of reviews I read before purchasing, many GL 1800 owners agree. The only problem I have is that the chrome scratches easily. I bought the risers which is a must have if you are going to add the spoiler. When you are marking the holes for drilling and are adding the risers, be sure to mark with the risers in place because it changes the orientation of the holes. Trust me. Lol.

poor chrome

Rack is a great add on !! Looks great.
2 years the chrome is peeling! The bike is always garaged and waxed. Kuryakyn has no answer or even try to replace. Warranty period is over!! DONT THEY MAKE A STAINLESS STEEL!!!!! It would be worth the extra bucks.

Luggage rack

This is "in my opinion" the nicest looking rack available. The chrome on mine was good on both sides but I had to reattach the rubber piece right out of the box. I like the look close to the spoiler so I did not use the risers. I did use the chrome/rubber star washers to spread the load. Installation is not that bad but there is no going back. Take your time, use lots of masking tape, measure till your 110% satified. Pay attention to the instructions about drill angle.

Very Nice to have on the bike! We strap our putty tat (cat) down to ours and he rides too! I rode up beside a crotch rocket with his girl holding on....and said "hey man, you've got your cat and I've got mine too!" Of course, he thought that was great......the girl didn't respond. MEOW!

This looks awesome on my Black Goldwing.

Watched the video, read all the feedback and followed the instructions. Measure twice, cut once and get a second set of eyes to make sure it's all square / straight.

Installation was an absolute breeze.

Also took the opportunity to install a 12v plug in the trunk lid and tidy up some wiring from my handle/brake light.

Had this item installed on my 2012 by a friend that works on GoldWings! So I can't speak about installation. But it looks damn good on the back of my bike. Adds some nice bling!
