Sound

I have several different audio headsets. IMHO the "quality" of the "stereo" sound in this headset is horrible. The music distorts easily and the volume compared to the others is very low. Im very disappointed in this headset.

Just had this installed in my helmet when I bought my new Goldwing yesterday, and was dissapointed with the sound quality, was tinny and difficult to hear at 70 MPH, BUT--- I red my owners manual for the 2012 Goldwing, you have to select SRS HP on the audio panel, it is a difference from listening to a ten cent radio to a Bose (just kidding) but the difference is amazing. The dealer failed to tell me about this. I just ordered another one for my wife's helmet.

Bought 2 and installed them recently.
Fitted 1 to a Nolan N-102 Flip Face helmet and it is a nice fit. Although the speakers are bulky they fit nicely in the recess on the Nolan. Sound quality is fine and installation is ok as long as you take your time and think it through.
Fitted the 2nd to my wife’s Full Face Arai and it’s a disappointment because of the bulkiness of the speakers and the confines of the Arai. I’m going to have to buy her something else because it becomes uncomfortable for me if she’s uncomfortable (if you get what I’m saying).

I read all the reviews and believed the comments about good sound, etc. However, the sound quality is not even close to what I would call good (at least for music). There is no low end and the highs are tinny, especially at volume. I called J&M for tips on how to improve it. They said move them closer (obvious fix) but that did not help much. Compared to an older J&M elite set these are poor quality. Of course, once I have opened the package and installed it Wingstuff says I can't return it... So I am stuck with it. Disappointed with the "Staff pick" and disappointed with Wingstuff on this one as they usualy provide great service. I understand that they can't take 100s of these back but when its a "Staff pick" I guess I expect more. Save your money and get the Elite headsets.

Installed in HJC IS-Max modular helmet. Easy to install, and the smaller speakers fit very well in the HJC small speaker pockets. Have the 629 in another helmet and these speakers have more volume and quality of sound is good. Would purchase again and they cost less than the 629.

Received 2 of these today along with 2 JMHCPB J&M P-Style Lower Hook-Up Cords. Wife and I purchased matching HJC CL-31 half helmets. Speakers fit perfect without modifications needed in this helmet. Take you time inserting the excess wires into the body of the helmet. Bottom five pin connector to the bike seemed difficult to attach. Rubber cover seemed to bunch up when putting it on, but I think with time it will work itself in without further issues. Wife was at work so I put her helmet on my 6yr old (she so cute), played her favorite song and she was off singing away.Ha. Sound quality really good and over all very comfortable. Have not installed CB as of yet but hope these will work just as well as the other models I have read/heard which had some issues. Over all, Very happy with them. Thanks Wingstuff!!

Installed this in a shoei multitech. Once I visualized my plan installation went smooth. I was unwilling to cut and remove any styrene from the ear area per instructions. The velcro mounting disks combined with the thin speakers fit and mounted just fine without modification into ear area of the helmet. The bass response seems sufficient (for me anyway) even though I didn't follow the instruction: "An airtight seal is necessary to preserve bass response..." I have not tested the mic yet but experience so far has been positive. I would buy another.

I installed this system in a HJC Sy-MaxII and was quite surprised by the quality of the sound. If you like bass, it has plenty!

The installation took just slightly longer than it took to open the package and remove the contents.

If you have a HJC Sy-MaxII or similarly constructed helmet that has a shallow space around the ears, this is the headset to get.

Installed these headsets - one in my HJC Symax II and one in my wife's (same type). The installation was straight forward and the unit fits the Symax II very well. The thin speakers fit perfectly into the helmet speaker pockets. The distance of the speaker from the ear is about 3/8'', which is perfect for quality sound. Very pleased with the quality of this product.
