Much Better Feel Than Stock Grips!

I had these installed and they make a huge difference. The OEM grips are way to small, and my hands woulkd cramp up when riding. IU had these on my Roadstar Silverado and loved them. As far as feeling the heat, I only tried the heat for a short distance and barely felt anything. Hence the 4 stars..I hope that's not the case when it's COLD! Only time will tell!

Update 2:

I used these on a 3,000 mile trip w/ 105+ high temps. Not sure if it's hand sweat that causes it, but the chrome started flaking off shortly after installation. What doesn't peel off stains black too (that chrome polish has trouble removing). Later in the year I used them in 40F rain, and could barely feel the heat grips if at all. However, they do help with grip radius and no cramping on long rides.

One Year Later

I installed these in April 2011. I read the reviews so I waited a year to do the review. These were hard to install be yourself. The heat takes awhile to feel and have to leave on high setting. The chrome is starting to come off. I will look for a different kind to replace these with. One good point is that you still have your factory grips under them so when you throw these away.

Looks Nice but 1 Year Later

Installed these grips last March 2011. Installation was not easy but followed suggestions of others and finally got on. They do look nice. The grip is very fat but I have large hands so this was great compared to stock grips. During winter time as far as heat transfer, just forget about it. If it did it was not much. I did not notice any. The chrome started peeling during the winter months. Now looking for new grips but not these.

Bad Design

Put them on with the corresponding throttle boss and end weights. Right side end broke off first time using them. Bad design, there is little support/strength. Will not replace.

I have had these grips for a few months now and just got to drive my 2010 GL 1800 in the coldest weather yet in Wisconsin this year.I give these grips a 4 star because they do take a bit of time to warm up. I just rode home in 27 degree weather for a 40 minute ride. It took about 10 minutes at 55 mph for the grips to warm my hands. I guess what more can you ask for when I'm driving in below freezing weather. Very nice grip in warm weather and very easy install. Have not had any problems with the chrome. Wing stuff had them to me in just a few days.
Thanks Wing Stuff

I purchased these twice reordered first time due to chrome flaking off but I had them for probably a year. Second set only lasted two months and again the chrome started flaking off.

Received my new Kuryakyn clamshell grips and Extended Throttle Boss yesterday. Installed them over my lunch hour. Worked perfectly! Tools/Aids Used:

Windex - On factory grips to aid in sliding on new grips

Zip Ties - To compress clamshell frame

The fit is perfect and the thicker size is just right. This should relieve some of the fatigue and stress caused by the smaller factory grips.

Not cold enough to verify the heat transfer through the new grips, but should be fine.

The reason of the 4 star is that this was the 3rd set of grips that I have install and all three sets start bubbling then peels; and I have used S100 corrosion prevent. I have installed the same grips on other bikes and they have not had any problems with them. I must have a lot of body acid I guess so now I'm planning to get the Gloss Black ISO Grips next an see what happens. There are no complaints about the looks nor the comfort of the ISO grips.
