Safety plus occasional bonus

These were one of the first safety items I added. I noticed drivers seemed to do a lot more double takes and are more aware that I am there. I have several drivers roll down windows at stoplights and inform me that my headlights are flashing. I also have to chuckle when some cagers are too busy with the cell phone, make-up, and fast food instead of driving, glance in the rear view mirror and promptly proceed to the right shoulder and allow me to pass. This item is worth every penny.

Great safety item

I had one on my Gl1500. Not hard to install but unless you have small hands it took time to get them plugged on the bulbs. But once they were plugged in it was a piece of cake. Some claim that modulating on the high beams are rude to cages. I say that cages ignoring me on my bike is rude so I will do everything to make me more noticable. A great investment.

a must have

Bought 2 pairs. one for the wife's bike and one for mine. Really don't have big hands, but it was a tight squeeze especially in the left pocket. Just unscrew the wire harness and you get more room. They both look great. fyi, have 2 2004 wings and the room under the pockets on each bike was different. Wifes had alot more room...and was easier to install.

Awsome Modulators and quick and easy install

not sure why everyone says they are a pain to install takes about 15 minutes all you have to do is take the front cubby pockets out reach in there unplug the lights plug these in and put the plug back on??

these work great i have been running mine since nov 2008
have not had any bulb failures i have replaced my low beams but not the high beams these are hooked up too

if you want an attention getter to make people take a second look before attempting to pull out in front of you these are the modulators you want

Bulb life issues?

I am thinking about adding these but am concerned about them effecting bulb life. Has anyone had any issues with shorter bulb life because of the oscillation?

I have them hooked up on my low beams. I did NOT want to modulate the high beams whatsoever. I want to get attention, not blind people with a pulsed light.

Installation on a 2012 was pretty straight forward and only took a few minutes once you stuck your hand down the fork tunnel and felt around for the socket. Mounting the light sensor still has to be done and it should have an unobstructed view of the sky. It is very sensitive and blocking it in any way will turn the modulation off.

If you are going to install these on your high beams, then get ready for some serious tear down of the front.

I installed them this weekend thy are great they are easy to install if you combine with air filter change. That way you can wire tie wires nice and tidy. Do not be afraid to do your own air filter hours of work to remove everything but is not hard

While they are a COMPLETE and TOTAL pain to install they are great for what "I THINK" they were designed to do.
I do not generally drive with my high beams on during daylight hours so my use of them is that whenever i see someone that just looks as if they might pull out or there is tire movement ( look at their tires for first sign of movement) then i will flip on my high beams that flash at them to give the gager a WATCH OUT.
I have the older model on my GL1800 and its been all over the place and no one has even given me the evil eye but there again its that i use it to get their attention at times i have doubts about them pulling out in front of me.
Out here in Texas there are paved strips on the side of the lanes and people use them ( DUMB) to pull out and get up speed.. DANGERIOUS as it looks as if they are pulling out onto the road in front of you.

Haven't installed one yet. I ask that those of you who have, stopped stating how cars are pulling over and out of the way for you. This will be printed and used for evidence to make them illegal. (Just a thought)

I do not have this product yet either. Trying to determine the legality of it. Contrary to what the sheriff below says, TITLE 49, UNITED STATES CODE
CHAPTER 301 MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY says that no state my usurp a Federal regulation. http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/standards/chapt301.html

1. When a motor vehicle safety standard is in effect under this chapter, a State or a political subdivision of a State may prescribe or continue in effect a standard applicable to the same aspect of performance of a motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment only if the standard is identical to the standard prescribed under this chapter. However, the United States Government, a State, or a political subdivision of a State may prescribe a standard for a motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment obtained for its own use that imposes a higher performance requirement than that required by the otherwise applicable standard under this chapter.

2. A State may enforce a standard that is identical to a standard prescribed under this chapter.

So it sounds to me like a state can enforce a stricter standard for their own vehicles, but must abide by Federal regulations. Am I interpreting this correctly?
